Passport types

Three types of passports are issued to St Lucians:

• Regular passport: A standard passport issued to ordinary St Lucian citizens.
• Diplomatic/official passport: St Lucia diplomats, servicemen, and their eligible dependents are issued diplomatic or official passports.
• Emergency travel document (ETD): An emergency passport is issued to St Lucians who need to travel urgently but do not have their regular passport due to unforeseen circumstances such as loss, theft, damage, medical emergencies, or the death of a family member or close friend.

Passport validity

A Caribbean passport from St Lucia is valid for five years for passport holders under 16 and ten years for passport holders over 16.

Physical appearance

The appearance of the St. Lucia passport aligns with all CARICOM passports. The passport features a dark blue cover, symbolizing St Lucia’s Commonwealth status. The front cover displays the coat of arms of St Lucia, along with the words “Caribbean Community” at the top and “St Lucia,” “Passport,” and a biometric symbol beneath it. The inside page of the passport features a polycarbonate biometric page, containing the holder’s photograph, personal details, passport number, and an electronic chip for enhanced security.

The following individuals can obtain a St Lucia passport:

Birth: Persons born in St Lucia.

Descent: Persons born with a St Lucia parent or grandparent.

St Lucia Citizenship by Investment

There are four investment options to obtain citizenship:

• Real estate investment: The St Lucia real estate citizenship requires a minimum property purchase of $300,000
• Enterprise investment: An approved enterprise investment requires a $3.5 million solo investment or a $250,000 joint investment in a business venture with a minimum valuation of $6 million.
• Government bond acquisition: St Lucia government bonds require a National Action Government Bonds (NAB) acquisition of $300,000.

If you are applying for a passport through the St Lucia Citizenship by Investment Program, you must pay a St Lucia passport fee of $500 per passport in addition to the minimum investment amount and government administrative fee.

Your passport will be valid for five years for children 16 and under and ten years for individuals older than 16, after which it must be renewed.
