The first COVID-19 case was filed on 7 March 2020. As with the rest of the EU and Schengen Area, member countries imposed an EU-wide ban on third-country nationals in mid-March 2020. Malta also extended the entry ban to include EU and Schengen Area nationals but has since reopened its borders. Before you travel ensure that you meet the criteria to enter the country by checking on the government website and following government advice when you are in Malta.
