Provided you fulfill the program requirements, you’ll be granted a four-year residence permit for the NZD $5 million investment and a six-year residence permit for the NZD $10 million investment. After two years, you can apply for permanent residency.

You do not need to live in New Zealand full-time to maintain your residency status; however, how long you must spend in the country depends on whether you choose a Growth or Balanced category and your investment amount. The Growth category requires spending at least 21 days in New Zealand during the 36-month investment period. The balanced option requires 105-day physical presence in New Zealand during the 60-month investment period, which can be reduced to 63 days with an additional NZD $3 million investment.
