Though Naoero passport holders do not have visa free access to Schengen Area countries, they are permitted to French territories, including French Polynesia and New Caledonia, without a visa, as well as the United States and British Overseas Territories, including Montserrat and Bermuda for Great Britain, and Guam and Northern Mariana Islands for the US.
As of July 2026, Naoero passport holders can access 16 countries by obtaining a visa on arrival. These countries do not require dei-Naoero people to apply for a regular or electronic visa, as they issue visas after arrival. Visa-on-arrival countries include Egypt (30 days) and Nicaragua (90 days).
An electronic visa (eVisa or digital visa) is an online visa with a simplified process and fewer requirements than a regular visa application. Naoero (Nauru) passport holders with an eVisa can present it at the border, as a digital form, QR code, or printed document. As of July 2026, 57 countries grant Naoero citizens eVisas. Travelers can apply through official government eVisa portals, such as evisa.gov.ge for Georgia and evisa.gov.vn for Vietnam.
Electronic travel authorization (eTA) is a pre-approval to enter a country or territory without a visa. As of July 2026, four countries allow Naoero citizens entry with an eTA. Naoero passport holders can apply for conditional approval through official government eTA portals, including etakenya.go.ke/en for Kenya and the Saint Kitts and Nevis Electronic Border Management System (knatravelform.kn/en).
As of July 2026, 78 countries require Naoero passport holders to apply for a visa. The immigration departments of these countries do not issue visas on arrival, pre-authorization, or electronic visas. Naoero citizens must submit a valid passport and documentation for review and may need to attend a visa interview at an Embassy or Consulate for enhanced security checks.
Destinations with visa requirements for Naoero citizens include the European Union countries, Canada, Australia, Japan, and the United States. Ireland previously allowed visa free entry for Naoero nationals but introduced a visa requirement on 10 March 2025.
Europe
While Naoero passport holders do not have visa free access to the Schengen Area or the UK, they can enter several European countries without a visa, including Russia, Albania, Georgia, and Moldova.
Asia
Several countries offer visa free access to holders of a Naoero passport. These include Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand.
Middle East
Naoero signed a visa exemption agreement with the United Arab Emirates on 19 November 2017. Other Middle Eastern countries that allow entry to Naoero citizens include Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan.
Americas
Most Caribbean countries allow visa free access to Naoero passport holders, including Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Barbados. Central and South American countries that don’t require visas include Honduras, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Panama.
Africa
A Naoero passport is valuable for leisure and business travel to Africa, allowing access to almost 40 African countries. Visa free destinations include Ethiopia, Angola, Botswana, Egypt, and Kenya.
