Through its structured real-estate investment framework, Qatar offers two residency pathways in government-designated freehold and usufruct zones. The baseline Temporary Residence Permit grants a renewable 1-to-5-year visa for a minimum property purchase of QAR 730,000 (approximately $200,000 USD), requiring owners to maintain a minimal physical presence of at least 90 days per year. Alternatively, the premium Permanent Residency Permit requires a property investment of at least QAR 3,650,000 (approximately $1 million USD), which waives the minimum-stay rule entirely and unlocks state-level privileges such as free public healthcare, public education and the right to establish local businesses without a Qatari partner. To qualify under either tier, the primary applicant must be at least 21 years old, undergo localised health and fingerprinting checks, present a clean police-clearance certificate, and demonstrate a monthly income of at least QAR 10,000 to sponsor a spouse and dependent children.
