2026 Global Citizenship Programs Report: St. Kitts and Nevis

Share this post:

Introduction

St. Kitts and Nevis, a twin-island federation in the Eastern Caribbean, is the birthplace of citizenship by investment. Established in 1984, its CBI programme is the longest-running in the world and has served as the benchmark against which all subsequent programmes are measured. The nation’s economy is driven by tourism, financial services, and CBI revenues. As a member of the OECS, CARICOM, and the Commonwealth, St. Kitts and Nevis offers its citizens access to regional free movement and an extensive network of bilateral visa agreements. The programme has undergone significant reforms in recent years, including the introduction of the Sustainable Island State Contribution (SISC) Fund in 2023 and enhanced due diligence standards developed in partnership with international compliance firms.
