Who Can Apply for the Italy Golden Visa?

The program is open to non-EU/EEA nationals who can demonstrate a qualifying investment and a clean financial and legal profile. Here’s what the Italian government looks for:

  • Age — You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Nationality — Open to all non-EU/EEA citizens. Note: Russian and Belarusian nationals (including dual nationals) have been suspended from the program since July 2023.
  • Investment capacity — You must be able to commit to one of four qualifying investment routes: €250,000 in an Italian innovative startup, €500,000 in an Italian limited company, €1,000,000 in a philanthropic donation, or €2,000,000 in government bonds.
  • Proof of funds — You’ll need a bank letter confirming your funds are lawfully acquired and comply with international anti-money laundering standards.
  • Clean criminal record — Police certificates from every country where you’ve lived for more than 6 months over the last 10 years.
  • Health insurance — A valid policy covering the entire Schengen Area with minimum coverage of €30,000.
  • Family members — Spouses, dependent children, and dependent parents can be included in your application.
